Checkeate 2.0: AI-powered digital clinic and assisted video consultations

Checkeate, our telemedicine platform with more than 7 years on the market, becomes a digital clinic with an AI Copilot that supports doctors before, during and after every video consultation.

Checkeate: digital clinic dashboard with the AI Copilot during a video consultation

The challenge

The first version of Checkeate covered the telemedicine essentials: scheduling, video consultations and remote care for patients in Peru. But doctors still spent much of each consultation on work other than caring for the patient: rebuilding the medical history, reviewing records, writing the summary and explaining test results.

Patients arrived without any prior triage, and clinics needed more than a video call: several doctors and specialties, cash management, e-invoicing and integration with their clinical systems.

On top of that, bringing artificial intelligence into healthcare requires complying with Peruvian regulation —Law 31814 on AI, Law 29733 on personal data protection and MINSA rules— and making every AI suggestion traceable and auditable.

The solution

We designed Checkeate 2.0 as an AI-assisted digital clinic built on one clear principle: AI does not replace the doctor, it is the doctor’s copilot.

Before the consultation, the Copilot triages the patient, prepares the medical history and gathers the relevant records. During the video consultation —an integrated HD video call with nothing to install— the AI is active: it proposes a working diagnosis, highlights key data and suggests tests and referrals, which the doctor accepts or edits. Afterwards, it drafts an editable summary, issues the signed digital prescription and explains results to the patient in plain language.

For patients, Checkeate offers booking in minutes for virtual or in-person consultations, AI triage, test result explanations and a digital medical record, with upfront payment by Yape, Plin or card through Culqi and WhatsApp follow-up afterwards.

For clinics and health networks, the platform adds an admin dashboard, management of multiple doctors and specialties, cash management, SUNAT e-invoicing, real-time reports and integrations with HIS, LIS, laboratory and clinical ERP systems through standards such as HL7 FHIR and DICOM. The Enterprise plan adds unlimited sites, white-labelling, API access and an SLA.

Security and compliance are part of the design: end-to-end encryption, servers in Peru, automatic backups, an auditable log of every AI decision and accuracy validation with Peruvian specialist doctors.
